If you are pregnant or think you may be, it is important that you find the right medical advice and help as soon as possible.
If you are uncertain about whether you are pregnant, free pregnancy testing is available at several clinics in the Haringey, to find your nearest clinic or call us on 0208 442 6536.
Once you are sure you are pregnant you should begin your antenatal care as soon as possible. You have a choice of local maternity units who can provide your maternity care whether you wish to have your baby in hospital or at home.
The two main units serving Haringey women are:
North Middlesex Hospital, Antenatal Care - Tel: 020 8887 2502
Whittington Hospital, Antenatal Care - Tel: 020 7288 5249
You can either ring the numbers above to make an appointment, complete a self referral form from the hospital or ask your GP to refer you.
There are several other maternity units that are accessible from Haringey, including the Homerton, Barnet, Chase Farm, University College Hospital and the Royal Free. All services may be accessed directly or via your GP, it is your choice. It is important that the midwives see you to take your details and family history, give early pregnancy advice and organise an early scan before you get to 13 weeks of pregnancy.
Not everyone is happy to be pregnant and if this is the case, you need to be seen early. You can either go to your GP or visit any Contraception and Sexual Health clinic to discuss your options.
